I am an Auntie! This is my new nephew Kamden James. He was such a good model.
I hate writing, but love taking photos. I created this blog for friends, family, and others to keep in touch and see how my life is going.

RIP Maurice Sendak
I loved loved LOVED this book as a kid. He became one of my favourite artists. He will be missed.
Where I use to read the book, on the dining room floor... This is also possibly why the pages got turned. The book did get kicked around a bit, and dragged, and stuffed into backpacks. And my two favourite drawings/pages.
One of my favourite uncles was named Max (died when I was about 4 years old), and the other loved to sail (died when I was 6 years old) so this page always meant something special to me. As a kid I felt like both uncles were represented and remembered in this page.
What kid didn't like swinging in the trees...

From the Airport to Augsburg...
From the airport I could already see Minneapolis!
I love the new light rail that they have and I can't wait till it expands!
Some of the stations were quite artistic
I remember coming to one of the mills and watching a dance on the side of the building. So cool to see that they have kept the artistic flare!
The view from the bridge to Augsburg. Down town Minneapolis is just a stones throw away
Oh the memories of living in those two buildings... I hope the photos have been destroyed or lost!

The start of the trip
So a couple of days ago I took a plane to one of my favourite cities, Minneapolis. I might be biased, this is where I went to undergrad...
Anyway, I started the day with some reggae
Anyway, I started the day with some reggae
Took a train
Then waited for a bus
Found some cows at the airport... Thought I was in Chicago for awhile...
Then got bored waiting for the plane.
The story continues tomorrow~

Love Love Love my new Camera
I love my new Nikon V1! It's been a blast to shoot with. I do wish that they had a better layout of the manual vs aperture priority vs ect... However after working with it for about a week or so, the other cool stuff it does makes up for this!

What the Wha???
So I just found this clip...
Really, Really, REALLY... Do these people think that women are animals? That women are less than animals? I understand why people might be on either side of the issue, but comparing women to animals. Telling a women that her child is dead and that she will still have to carry it to term knowing everyday that the thing inside of her, the child inside of her is dead sounds to me like torture, inhumane torture. What really bothers me is how easy it is for this guy to compare women to animals, to dehumanise us. Nothing good ever comes from dehumanising a group of people. Women are people. It seems obvious, but after watching this, seeing some of the laws coming out, and listening to other law makers (I'm talking to you my beloved WI) I feel it is necessary to point out. Women are humans, fully functioning, thinking, intelligent, feeling humans.

Just a few days till heading to the midwest
I haven't been back to MN in about a year, it'll be good to see it again. In the mean time, I'm going to continue to enjoy spring here in Somerville.

Gotta love flowers
There is just so much colour out in the world at the moment. I keep trying to take photos of people and places, but I get stuck taking photos of the beautiful flowers all over the neighbourhood. Not a bad predicament! Hope you enjoy them.
